Our sailing school runs as a day school during five days. We start at 9 am and keep on until 4 pm. The students are divided into groups based on their level of knowledge and age. Our students are usally between 8 and 16 years old, but we have no upper limit.
We mix lectures and practice. A typical day looks like this:
Morning
Startup and presentation of the plan of the day
Lecture in the group as a basis for the morning's sailing
Sailing exercises
-
Follow up of the sailing on shore with the group
Lunchbreak where we eat our own lunches brought from home. If it is hot, many of us might go for a swim.
Afternoon
- Lecture in the group as the basis for the afternoon's sailing
Sailing exercises
Sometimes a brake on shore and if it is too hot, a swim.
Continued sailing exercises
Follow up of the sailing on shore with the group. A small homework is assigned.
-
It is not unusual that the sailors stay for a swim instead of going home...
